Live Music: The Seaons

The Seaons {see-ons} are a young Southern Oregon indie rock band playing original songs, with influences ranging from Coldplay to Fleet Foxes. The band members emerged from jazz and choir backgrounds developed through local high school music programs.
The original band was formed initially for the purpose of playing the music written by Sean Siders. Those first songs were the culmination of his high school senior project. That project entailed the production of a seven song EP called “Reaching Out”, which was performed, recorded and mixed entirely by Sean in his home studio (re: his bedroom). Upon completion of the EP, Sean solicited the help of some of his music friends so those songs could be performed in the community. They performed under the name "Apple Siders" and within their first year, they recorded their first band EP called “Sounds Human” and were named as “Artist in Residence” by the prestigious Britt Festivals.
In September 2011, the band officially changed their name to "THE SEAONS". A name attributed in part to inspiration and in part to an accidental misspelling of the word “SEASONS.”
Artist: Mia O'Dougherty

“My fascination with painting and the art of creating my own world through color began at the age of four. My everyday life has always been filled with artistic expression. I am excited by art because I see it as something that I will never completely understand, nor do I wish to. The unknown inspires me to take chances within my paintings and helps me move away from trying to create perfection. I use mostly acrylic paint on canvas, and I experiment with oil pastels, printmaking, ink pen, and photography.
My life journey is in the process of the greatest shift yet as I prepare to leave for Prescott College in late August. I look forward to entering into a new community of artists and drawing inspiration from a completely unfamiliar environment. “
